Dear DCY Swim Parents,

If you attended the first swim parents meeting you will recall that we discussed the establishment of a locker room schedule.  This schedule will require one adult male and one adult female to monitor the locker rooms during each swim team practice (until such a time if/when we decide that there is no longer a need). This measure will help ensure the safety of our swimmers.  It will also act as added security for their belongings (as well as the property of the YMCA). Lastly, it may also help alleviate any horseplay or other inappropriate behavior, which tends to occur, thus allowing your swimmers to get ready in a timelier manner.

Beside the swim box, you will find the first schedules.  We intend to make the schedules on a monthly basis and we'll need to have all the spots filled, each time.  This means that you'll only have to volunteer two or three times the entire swim season.

As the schedule indicates, we're asking each volunteer to report from 5:15-7:15.  You are not required to stay in the locker room the entire time, but please keep in mind that the newer and younger swimmers finish at 6:15.  We'll also have the high school team transitioning during that time period.

A set of locker room rules and "discipline" guidelines will soon follow.  For now, just use your judgment on what behaviors are and are not appropriate.

Thanks for your support!
